The Aspire Mentoring School Integration Programme is our standard Mentoring Programme that is fully integrated at your school, after school. The Aspire Mentoring Programme can be co-ordinated with your school term on a day that is convenient for you and can be assocaited to your anti-bullying campaigns or your guidance department services.
The Aspire Mentoring School Integration Programme is about enabling girls to realise their full potential and teaching them the skills to achieve in an environment of like-minded girls. It's not a one-on-one programme, its about educating girls on how to work together and to support each other to achieve. It's a fun support network rather than a one-on-one programme. Each programme runs for 7 weeks long for 1.5 hours.
Our guest speaker evenings are included in the Aspire Mentoring School Integration Programme to introduce girls to wonderful successful women in different industries to hear their success stories, and of course, inspire the girls. Please have a look at our guest speaker page on the website for more information.
The Aspire Mentoring School Integration Programme really is for every girl. Whether she is struggling to stay motivated, finding it hard to fit in or make friends, or whether she simply wants to be in an environment that challenges, stimulates and inspires her on the path to living the life she dreams of. One of the major benefits of the Aspire Mentoring School Integration Programme, is that girls within the same school have the opportunity to learn together in a familiar environment, focussing on issues that all inculde them. It gets girls working together and breaking down the social groups formed within the school.
Aspire Mentoring doesn’t only aim to provide girls with an after-school programme for girls to attend once a week, but also offers guest speaking opportunities after school for parental engagement in learning more about their daughters and how to support them in today’s world. Mother/daughter workshop evenings have also been proven to bring mums together with their girls and to help develop that vital relationship girls need as they grow into young adults. The realtionship between a mother and daughter is unique – as a parent, sometimes assisting your child can be hard. They are finding their own feet, and while their need for independence is present, they still need a helping-hand. Knowing what girls are going through right now is a very different experience to that which mums went through, and it's important to address these changes in a way that is helpful and successful. It establishes a talking ground and a neutral environment that allows for both mums and daughters to learn together.
The Aspire School Bullying Talks at assemblies, aim to discuss the prevalence of bullying for both boys and girls – exploring what bullying really is, who does it and why, the impact and prevalence of bulying in NZ and what we can all do to combat the issue in your school. It’s a great opportunity to add weight to your school’s anti-bullying campaigns and support groups, while spreading that message of bullying not being okay.

“Students found Casey’s communication style warm and engaging, empathetic and down-to-earth. Having someone youthful and resilient as a role model for our girls especially has had such a positive impact. Casey's outlook is visionary-an approach that celebrates the strengths of youth and looks for ways that adolescents can use these strengths to reach long-term positive outcomes in their lives. Parents, teachers, students; this is an individual who dares greatly, and is willing to stand beside the next generation as they approach life's adult arena. Her presentation and grasp of this important developmental stage, was spot on, and we look forward to many opportunities to invite her back." – Kim Osbourne, Whangaparoa College
As a school, it’s important to not only support your students while they learn more and more about who they are and the decisions they make, but it’s also important to support parents.
Aspire Mentoring offers a range of ways your school can be involved with what we do from either a school assembly talk, parent evenings and the integration of the Aspire Mentoring programme after school.
Get in touch with the Aspire Mentoring team, to discuss ways in which you can be proactive in supporting your girls (and boys too!) in a way that suits your school.
