SELF-ESTEEM

GOAL SETTING
Throughout each girl's progress in the Aspire Mentoring programme, they will be taught a range of skills and knowledge. Each week the workshop will cover what Aspire calls 'chapters'. Chapters are topic focused discussions, activities and lessons from how to set goals, to how to deal with bullies.
Every week we cover a different chapter that is relevant to girls and sometimes have special guest speakers to share the chapter with. At the end of the Aspire Mentoring term programme, we review how the chapter topics have affected the girls' everyday lives, and how they were able to put the teachings into practise.
Below you can find a few examples of our chapter topics that we will focus on each week.
A very important aspect of achieving dreams is to first set goals.

At Aspire, we work with each girl to set a goal that is important to them. The workshop teaches them how to pick a goal and the processes they can take to see that they can successfully achieve it.
This is a realistic insight into teaching how girls can put their fate in their own hands and take responsibility for actions that impact their lives.
As soon as girls hit their teens, they experience a whirlwind of changes to their body, friends and their own thoughts.

The self-esteem chapter aims to teach girls a realistic and positive attitude towards themselves. Focusing on how we feel about ourselves and how we see each other, this chapter aims to feed the brain with healthy thoughts and allow the girls to see their own individual beauty.
When you put your mind to it... you can achieve wonderous things! Aspire is all about enabling girls to recognise their talents and to assist them in reaching their full potential.
The Aspire-ations chapter asks the big questions... who do you want to be? What do you want to do?
We try to show each girl their strengths and work on their weaknesses to achieve balance and success, from their school work to extra-curricular activities.
How to deal with success and how to deal with failure – both skills that are incredibly valuable for the future.
Unfortunately, at some point almost every girl experiences bullying. Its a growing trend between youth today that gets more and more hateful and destructive. A new trend is 'faceless-bullying' where kids are subjected to bullying through texts, email and social media.

At Aspire we aim to not only educate girls on what bullying is, but to discover the subconscious aspect of bullying. We cover group and cyber bullying, how to deal with bullies and also discuss ways we can prevent bullying in our social circles.
